Dr. Doris Wang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery at UCSF with a clinical and research focus in Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery. Dr. Wang’s clinical interest include treating movement disorders using neuromodulation and ablative procedures.
Dr. Wang’s research focus is to understand the neural dynamic of human motor control and motor learning using an implanted, bidirectional DBS devices and develop targeted, closed-loop therapies to restore motor functions in patients with brain diseases and injuries. She is the recipient of the R01 grant from the NIH/NINDS studying cortical basal ganglia netowrk dynamic on gait in Parkinson's disease, the Burroughs-Wellcome Career Award for Medical Scientist, and a Michael J Fox Foundation Grant on developing adaptive DBS to treat gait disorders in Parkinson's disease.
