Shawn D’Souza completed his BA in neuroscience and molecular, cellular, and developmental biology at CU Boulder (2019) and is currently working on completing his medical degree at VCU SOM. He is conducting functional neurosurgery research on optimizing DBS for Parkinson’s Disease under the mentorship of Dr. Kathryn Holloway and Dr. Paul Koch. He is passionate about research in connectomics, including the utility of DTI and fMRI to better understand brain connectivity, tumor pathophysiology, and DBS optimization. He has authored several articles on these topics and hopes to pursue a career as a neurosurgeon-scientist.
