Medical Student
University of Iowa Hospital and Clinic Department of Neurosurgery
My name is Anthony Piscopo, and I am a third-year medical student at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and have been involved in neurosurgical research for 6 years under the mentorship of Dr. Matthew Howard, Dr. David Hasan, and Dr. Jeremy Greenlee. I grew up in a small town in northern Iowa called Clear Lake where I was a hockey player and attended college on a choir scholarship. I worked in the University of Iowa Department of Neurosurgery throughout my undergraduate years and was awarded the NREF Medical Student Summer Research Fellowship during my first year of medical school under the mentorship of Dr. David Hasan and with the help of all members of the Hasan Lab. I will be applying to the Neurosurgery Match in the Fall of 2023. My research interests include skull base, device design, spine, and endovascular neurosurgery. In my free time, I enjoy exercising, traveling, and am an avid watch collector.
