Anthony Maxin is a third-year medical student at Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. A graduate of the University of Washington, he spent time as a clinical research assistant in Otolaryngology before discovering a passion for neurological surgery. As a clinical research assistant at the University of Washington Department of Neurological Surgery, he drove the development of the PupilScreen smartphone pupillometer application for detection of a variety of neurological diseases, including ischemic stroke, traumatic brain injury, subarachnoid hemorrhage, and Alzheimer disease. Currently, he continues to work on this project while nurturing a research interest in both traumatic brain injury and cerebrovascular neurosurgery.
