Leigh Maria Ramos-Platt is a Board-Certified Neurologist with a special qualification in Child Neurology and an added qualification in Clinical Neurophysiology. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan and her Medical Degree at the University of Hawai'i John A Burns School of Medicine. She completed her General Pediatrics training at Loma Linda University Medical Center. Her trianing in Neurology, Child Neurology, and Clinical Neurophysiology was completed at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals/Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. She is currently an Attending Neurologist at Children's Hospital Los Angeles and an Associate Professor of Neurology at the University of Californai Keck School of Medicine (Clinical Educator). She is the Medical Director for the Multidisciplinary Neuromuscular Program at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. She is involved in multiple multidisciplinary programs at the Neurological Institute at Children's Hospital Los Angeles including the Brachial Plexus Injury and Peripheral Nerve Injury Clinic. Her clinical and research interests are in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, Electromyogram/Nerve Conduction Studies, Spinal Muscular Atrophy, and other Neuromuscular Disorders of Childhood. She is the PI in various sponsored trials. She is involved with several patient advocacy groups including CureDuchenne, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, CureSMA, and Parents Project Muscular Dystrophy.
