Senior Resident
National Neuroscience Institute, Singapore
Dr Yu Tung Lo, MBBS, is a Neurosurgery resident at the National Neuroscience Institute, Singapore. He has research interests focused on the development of brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) and neural interfaces. He is currently investigating the use of BCIs in a rat model of intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH), with a specific focus on how changes in mechanical tensile forces during ICH resorption in the acute phase of stroke and neuroplasticity affect signal characteristics and stability. In addition, he has previously worked on the analysis of decoded monkey cortical signals during the control of a mobile robotic platform. Dr Lo also has ongoing work in the areas of vagus nerve stimulation in inflammatory conditions, spinal cord bioelectronic bypass, and flexible neural interfaces to track long-term neuronal changes in GBM models.
