Anthony Parisi, MD, is a 5th year Neurosurgery resident at the University of Kentucky. He graduated the University of Pennsylvania with Cum Laude Honors while completing an honors research thesis examining post-traumatic changes in astrocyte domains after both rotational and blast traumatic brain injury in a porcine model. He then attended Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School where he graduated as a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and was awarded a Robert Wood Johnson Gala Scholarship for academic achievement. While training at the University of Kentucky, he has developed an interest in General Neurosurgery as well as a focus on quality improvement projects to improve patient care. These include instituting a treatment algorithm for emergent spinal pathology to assist Emergency Department providors while also streamlining MRI imaging for emergent spinal pathology, as well as a post-operative craniotomy/craniectomy hygeine protocol to maintain incisional cleanliness and decrease infection rates.
