Samir Alsalek, BS, is a rising 4th-year student at the Kaiser Permanente Bernard J Tyson School of Medicine. He was born and raised in Syria and initially attended the Damascus University School of Medicine. After immigrating to the United States, he restarted his journey to medicine and attended the University of California, Los Angeles. He graduated with a degree in psychobiology with honors and enrolled in the inaugural class of Kaiser Permanente's School of Medicine. Samir is committed to a career in neurosurgery. His research interests include neuroimmunology, epilepsy, surgical oncology, and spine surgery.
