Alexander Horn, BA is a 4th year medical student at Wake Forest Univeristy School of Medicine and is applying to neurosurgery residency programs in the upcoming application cycle. He graduated summa cum laude from Wake Forest University in May, 2020 with a degree in latin and neuroscience. He was a Presidential Scholar for distinguished acheivement in the arts with the viola and served as their principal violist all 4 years. Additionally, he won their concerto competition in early 2020 with the William Walton Viola Concerto. He was accepted to Wake Forest University School of Medicine through the early assurance program during his junior year, and matriculated following his senior year in July, 2020. His research interests include intracerebral hemorrhage, mechanical thrombectomy, laser interstitial thermal therapy for mesial temporal lobe epilepsy, and gamma knife for trigeminal neuralgia. He continues to perform as a principal violist with the Triad Area Medical Orchestra, in addition to founding and leading the Wake Forest University School of Medicine Club Golf organization.
