Cierra Harper is a third year medical student at Howard University College of Medicine and the 2022 Mario and Edith Campagna Scholar in Neurological Surgery at Oregon Health and Science University. Her research interests focus on understanding the interplay between patient and physician demographics, socioeconomic status, and treatment on clinical outcomes and residency training in neurosurgery. Cierra will be pursuing a career in academic neurosurgery and has taken the lead on several initiatives within organized neurosurgery. She helped found the Women in Neurosurgery (WINS) Medical Student Committee and serves as the Events Chair. She founded the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) Student Chapter at Howard University and is now in the postion of President Emeritus.
