Edgar M. Carrasco, Neurosurgeon. He received his medical degree from San Francisco Xavier University in Bolivia in 2003.
Under the direction of Dr. Armando Basso (president of the WFNS), he trained as a neurosurgeon at the Hospital de Clínicas "José de San Martin", University of Buenos Aires, Argentina from 2005 to 2010. He concentrated his interest in minimally invasive surgery with courses from the International Federation of Neuroendoscopy (www.ifne.org) and the Aesculap Academy, completing his training at the Department of Neurosurgery at NYU Presbyterian Hospital - Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York, United States, in 2012 with a Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery, Neuroendoscopy, and Skull Base Surgery.
After training he returned to his country and practice as Neurosurgeon at Hospital San Juan de Dios and Caja de Salud de la Banca Privada in Santa Cruz city, focusing on cerebrovascular, trauma, endoscopy and spine surgery.
He is a full member of the Cruceña Neurosurgical Society (2011), Bolivian Society of Neurosurgeons (2014), International Member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (2007) and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (2012)
