Dr. Kelly Yoo is currently a postdoctoral fellow in neurosurgery working in the laboratory of Prof. Steven D. Chang at Stanford University. Dr. Yoo earned her M.D. and Ph.D. degrees at Heidelberg University in Germany where she developed and implemented CAR T cell immunotherapies at Heidelberg University Hospital to treat patients with hematological and neurological cancers. She received her residency training in neurosurgery with additional focus in radiation oncology at the Heidelberg University Hospital, Ludwig-Maximilians Klinikum University Hospital in Munich, and the University Medical Center in Freiburg. As a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford, Dr. Yoo has been exploring combination treatment modalities, including immunotherapy, radiosurgery, and CyberKnife technology, for the treatment of neurosurgical patients with brain cancers. In addition to her clinical and research expertise, Dr. Yoo is passionate about global health engagement and is dedicated to improving healthcare disparities in neurosurgical patients around the world.
