Dr. Ali Tayebi Meybodi is currently a PGY4 resident with the Departemnt of Neurosurgery at Rutgers University. He was born in Iran. He finished a neurological surgery residency in 2011 and was board certified. In 2014, he started a neurosurgical research odyssey at UCSF and thereafter in Barrow Neurological Institute. His research was mostly focused on desiging new skul base approaches, creating novel microvascular anastomosis models and defining new anatomical landmarks in neurosurgery besides projects in clinical neurosurgery. He is a devoted aficionado of neurosurgical anatomy and is currently writing a book on Surgical Approaches to the Temporal Lobe with his mentors Dr. Mark Preul and Dr. Michael Lawton. In 2019, he decided to refresh his neurosugical knowledge and skillset by joining the Rutgers Neurosurgery Program as a resident. He continues his research endeavors despite the busy schedule of neurosurgical residency. He enjoys spending time with his wife, traveling, learning mathematics and playing strategic computer games.
