University of Wisconsin - Madison Neurosurgery
Ethan Mickelson is a Research Technician for Dr. Amgad Hanna's lab at the University of Wisconsin - Madison's Neurosurgery Department. Ethan's research focuses on cytokine interventions to improve functional recovery after spinal cord injury and novel nerve transplant procedures. Ethan has previously given research presentations regarding his work in neurosurgery, clinical outreach strategies for high-risk breast cancer patients, and low-cost differential dynamic microscopy platforms in biophysics. Currently, he is working on a grant focused on brachial plexus injuries, teaching surgical techniques to undergraduate students, and applying to medical school for the next academic year.
Ethan earned his Master's degree in Medical Science from Brown University and completed his undergraduate degree in Biophysics at the Univerisity of San Diego where he was named the Outstanding Biophysics Major of his class. As an aspiring medical student, Ethan hopes to continue surgical research and pursue his passions for neurosurgery, sports medicine, and providing care for underserved populations.
