Muhammad Burhan Ud Din Janjua, MD FICS is an assistant professor in the department of neurosurgery at Washington University School of Medicine. Dr Janjua has earned in medical degree from King Edward Medical University with honors and distinctions. Dr Janjua is foreign trained in neurosurgery. Dr Janjua was selected by AANS as a visiting resident in department of neurosurgery at LSUHSC New Orleans during his residency training. Subsequenty, he spent 36 months of basic science while performing postdoctoral research fellowships at Washington University School of Medicine in the department of neuroanesthesia, and neurosurgery. Dr Janjua studied the graded effects of Sevofluorane on level of consciousness with the use of EEG and functional MRI. He also studied the role of K-Channel openers to prevent ischemic injury. Dr Janjua is trained in skull base, surgical neuro oncology, complex spine, adult and pediatric spinal deformity, and pediatric neurosurgery. Dr Janjua has special interest in neurotrauma with a focus on traumatic brain injury, and complex spinal fractures. Dr Janjua has an extensive research background in different subspecialties of neurosurgery, and has authored various text books. Dr Janjua is also part of collaborative research efforts at NYU langone and University of Pennsylvania. Moreover, he is an active member of AANS, CNS, NASS, AANOS, and ICS. Dr Janjua has earned various awards during his training includuing ACS Leadership Summit award, Resident Member for CNS Education Committee, and best research abstract presentation awards at AANS annual meetings. Currently, he is a member of AMA executive committee for ICS, and Journal executive committee for AANOS.
