Michael A. Vogelbaum, MD, PhD, is Program Leader of NeuroOncology and Chief of Neurosurgery at Moffitt Cancer Center. He is also Professor of Oncological Sciences at the University of South Florida. Dr. Vogelbaum has an externally funded basic science and translational research program which currently focuses on immunobiology of brain tumors, Phase 0/Window of Opportunity clinical trials, and trials that involve active delivery of therapeutic agents to the brain. He is currently developing novel devices for delivering therapeutics directly to the brain, for which he has received multiple patents. The first of these devices has been used in clinical trials and it has received a 510(k) clearance from the FDA. He is the co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer of Infuseon Therapeutics, Inc., a company that was spun-off from the Cleveland Clinic to commercialize his therapeutic delivery devices.Dr. Vogelbaum is a co-founder of the Response Assessment in NeuroOncology (RANO) group, Chair of the Neurosurgery Committee for NRG Oncology, and he has been a Vice President of the Society for NeuroOncology (SNO).
