Mark Witcher, M.D., Ph.D., FAANS is the Residency Program Director at the Virginia Tech Carilion Neurosurgery program. He is an Associate Professor at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and the Virginia Tech School of Neuroscience. He is interested in innovative strategies to diagnose and treat patients based upon increased understanding of specific disease processes. To this end, he has published and contributed to several multidisciplinary first-of efforts to better understand neuronal circuit disorders underlying neurologic diseases using ultrastructural, neurophysiological and neurochemical methods. Each research line combines cutting edge scientific discovery with translational application.
