Megan Bauman, M.S. is a second-year medical student at the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. She is actively involved in her local AANS Student Chapter and currently serves as the chapter's co-president. As co-president of her local AANS Student Chapter, Ms. Bauman is dedicated to developing mentorship initiatives, both for members of MCASOM and for local premedical students with an interest in the neurosciences. Ms. Bauman's clinical research interests center round pediatric midbrain tumors, skull base tumors, neurocritical care, and gender disparities in academia. In addition, her basic science interests lie in investigating glioblastoma-derived extracellular vesicles and their role in immunosuppression, through the laboratory of Dr. Ian F. Parney, M.D., Ph.D. Alongside her academic interests, Ms. Bauman is an avid musician and educator. She enjoys teaching music lessons and serving as a teaching assistant for first-year courses at MCASOM.
