Chibueze, who also goes by Simon, is a 2nd-year student at Texas A&M School of medicine. He has had a remarkable journey in pursuing his dream of becoming a neurosurgeon. He was born and raised in Enugu, Nigeria, and later moved to the United States to pursue his education. Simon's passion for healthcare led him to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Texas Southern University, where he developed an interest in researching maternal and child health outcomes. However, Simon's ultimate goal was to become a neurosurgeon, and he decided to pursue his medical degree at Texas A&M School of Medicine. He is currently a medical student there, learning and training to become a skilled physician.
As someone passionate about research, Simon joined the neuroinformatics lab to strengthen his research skills further. He believes that his experience in research will help him become a better neurosurgeon in the future. Simon has a specific interest in spine surgery and neurooncology. As someone who has had to overcome cultural and academic barriers in pursuing his dream, Simon understands the importance of supporting and encouraging students who may face similar challenges. He hopes to use his skills and knowledge to serve as an advocate for minority students in the medical field.
