Rafael De la Garza Ramos, MD is PGY-7 chief resident at Montefiore Medical Center Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. He was born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico and received his medical degree from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education in 2013, graduating with honors. He then completed a three-year research fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine Department of Neurosurgery, receiving the A. Earl Walker Outstanding International Fellow Award in 2015 in recognition of his contributions to the advancement of neurological sciences. He was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society as a resident member in 2020. His primary clinical and research interest is in spine oncology and complex reconstruction, including outcomes research, machine learning, adverse event prediction, frailty, and biomechanics.
