Minza Haque, a final year medical student from Liaquat National Hospital and Medical College, Karachi, Pakistan.
I developed a deep appreciation for surgery, specifically neurosurgery, during my neurosurgery elective in the summer of 2021 while on-call. It was during this time that I had the opportunity to participate in an emergency decompressive craniectomy at 5am, where I assisted with a few sutures at the conclusion of the procedure. The profound impact that the surgery had on the nine-year-old gir'ls Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) score, after the surgery, remains with me to this day.
I desire to advance the field of neurosurgery through my future clinical practice, research, and education. To do so, I actively engage in neurosurgery-related research activities, and I am humbled that my first-ever submitted abstract was accepted by the highest neurosurgery forum.
During my free time, I enjoy creating content for my page, try to learn tennis, experimenting with new culinary experiences and going on post-meal walks afterwards.
