Adam Benjamin Lipson, MD (DOB 5/30/1986, Marlton, NJ), graduate of Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University (MD 2017), Post-baccalaureate Premedical Program, Columbia University (Certificate 2010), and College of Arts and Sciences Honors Program, Boston University (BA, magna cum laude, Psychology, Political Science 2008); current PGY-6 resident in Neurosurgery at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, Springfield, IL (2017-24). Clinical interests include Tumor, Functional/Stereotactic, Epilepsy, and minimally invasive surgical approaches to the Spine. Research interests include intracranial senolytic infusion in an animal model of Alzheimer's Disease, outcomes in tumor and neuromodulatory/DBS surgery, expanding surgical indications for the use of 5-ALA (Gleolan), and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) for post-operative-associated pain following lumbosacral spinal fusion. Recipient of "Excellence in Teaching Award" from the SIU Department of Surgery (2019-20; 2020-21; 2021-22), and co-advisor of the AANS medical student chapter at SIU School of Medicine (2020-present). Currently serving as a resident representative on SIU Medicine Quality, Risk, and Safety committee (2022-present), GMEC (2021-present), and House Staff Board of Directors (2021-present). Previous NIH Grant T32 pre-doctoral appointee (TUSM 2014-15), intern in biomedical research, lab of Bibiana Bielekova MD (Neuroimmunological Diseases Unit/NIH/NINDS/NIB 2012), and clinical research coordinator in the Department of Psychiatry/Treatment Research Center at University of Pennsylvania (2010-12). Extracurricular interests include travel, cooking, exercise, music. Self-professed Anglophile. Married to Victoria Ashley Sale; father to Noah James, and dog-dad to Maxwell the Husky.
