Dr. Christina Abi Faraj is a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. She completed her medical training at the American University of Beirut (AUB) in Lebanon and developed a strong interest in neurosurgery. Dr. Abi Faraj is also passionate about empowering women to pursue surgical specialties. She founded the Women in Surgery Interest Group, the first of its kind in the Middle East. She also founded the AUB student chapter under the Association of Women Surgeons. Dr. Abi Faraj is also the co-founder of the Walter Dandy Neurosurgical Club in Lebanon.
Currently, Dr. Abi Faraj is involved in various research projects that focus on the surgical and radiosurgical management of brain tumors such as glioblastoma and brain metastases. In her free time, Dr. Abi Faraj enjoys exploring the various restaurants and cuisines in Houston, Texas, where she currently resides. She also enjoys drawing and painting.
