Michael J. Ward, MS, is a 2nd year medical student at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He is a member of Dr. Ausaf Bari’s Surgical Neuromodulation and Brain Mapping Lab in the UCLA Department of Neurosurgery. Mr. Ward has over 9 years of research experience, with expertise in intracranial EEG, extraoperative electrical stimulation mapping, and Deep Brain Stimulation. His research combines neuroimaging with invasive electrophysiology to study the neural correlates of treatment-resistant neurological and psychiatric disorders, with a specific focus on restorative neuromodulation for refractory epilepsy and chronic pain.
