Elyse Moore, BS, currently serves as a postbaccalaureate IRTA research fellow in the Neurosurgical Unit for Pituitary and Inheritable Disease (NUPID) within the Surgical Neurology Branch of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS). Elyse obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Neuroscience from Virginia Tech in spring of 2021. During her undergraduate studies, she worked as a research assistant in the School of Neuroscience, investigating the role of mitochondrial dysfunction in neurodegenerative disease. Her current research under the guidance of principal investigator Dr. Prashant Chittiboina, focuses on developing a novel organotypic pathophysiological model of the anterior pituitary gland with clinical significance. Aspiring to further her expertise in neuroscience, Elyse plans to pursue an MD/PhD to contribute to the field through both patient care and scientific inquiry.
