Olga Ciobanu-Caraus is a medical student at Medical University of Vienna, Austria and University of Heidelberg, Germany. Since 2019, she has been working on several clinical research projects in vascular and skull base neurosurgery as Research Assistant in the Department of Neurosurgery at Medical University of Vienna (Assoc. Prof. Christian Dorfer, Prof. Karl Rössler) and the Machine Intelligence in Clinical Neuroscience (MICN) Laboratory at the University Hospital Zurich (Dr. Victor Staartjes, Assoc. Prof. Carlo Serra, Prof. Luca Regli). Moreover, she coordinates an international, prospective trial as Research Coordinator at the Bergman Clinics, Amsterdam in the Netherlands (Dr. Marc Schröder) and is Research Intern at the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg, Germany (Prof. Stefan M. Pfister) where applies bioinformatics methods to dissect the functional heterogeneity of brain tumors based on molecular data from single-cell RNA sequencing. In summer 2022, she was International Visiting Scholar at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, AZ, USA (Prof. Michael T. Lawton).
