A Rhode Island native, Dr. Meyer graduated Magna Cum Laude from Hamilton College. He received his MD from Brown University and completed his residency in Neurological Surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. He was then selected for a prestigious complex and minimally invasive spine surgery fellowship at the University of California at San Francisco.
In New Jersey Dr. Meyer has served as Chairman and a member of the Spine Technology Committee at Atlantic Health System. He served as President of the New Jersey Neurosurgical Society for 2 years. Dr. Meyer is a member of the Spine Steering Committee at both Morristown Medical Center (MMC) and Overlook Medical Center (OMC).
Nationally, Dr. Meyer is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) and the Joint Sections of Spine and Peripheral Nerve of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons/Congress of Neurological Surgeons (DSPN) where he serves as a member of its Scientific Program Committee. He served as Scientific Program Chiar for the Spine Summit 2022 and is Annual Meeting Chair for Spine Summit 2023. He lectures regularly at national meetings and is a leader in the promotion of quality and outcomes-driven spine surgery.
Dr. Meyer has published on mini-open transforamenal lumbar interbody fusion for the treatment of spondylolisthesis, cervical arthroplasty, cervical laminoplasty, cervical degenerative disc disease, adult degenerative scoliosis and spinal metastatic disease in numerous journals.
